Course Overview

AIMS:

The aim of this course is to provide shipboard personnel with the knowledge and skills required to effectively investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses on board ships. The course enables participants to identify immediate, underlying, and root causes of incidents, apply relevant maritime regulations and industry guidelines, conduct systematic investigations, prepare accurate reports, and recommend corrective and preventive measures to enhance safety performance and prevent recurrence.

 

The course 'Accident and Incident Investigation and Analysis' is designed to equip participants in alignment with IMO Model Course 3.11. Safety Investigation into Marine Casualties and Marine Incidents, and in accordance with the requirements of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF).
